XP SP2 risk note

I am running Win XP SP2 and I turned my automatic updates off. Always a note on the bottom of the screen by the clock comes up saying your computer may be at risk (looks like a red shield). How can I disable that thing on the bottom so it doesnt start up? Thank you

Click start, control panel, security centre, change the way security centre alerts me, remove the ticks you want, click apply
