I want my cd/dvd drive to burn 24x like its supposed to

I have downloaded firmware that is supposed to make my drive burn at the 24x speed that its supposed to. Can someone tell me how to flash the firmware correctly.

Also check and make sure the cd-r's that you are using can be burned at 24x speed. Alot of the cheap CD-R's that you can buy only burn at like a measely 10x.

It is an HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4241N
The cds are 48 x max speed
