You're not the only one :whistling:

It has its own installer, so just tick the options you want

It says I need to install SP 2. Should I uninstall AutoPatcher, reinstall it and try again?

No Nothing. it just hangs when it says its inspecting the setup. The CD-Rom runs and then when it gets to inspecting it shuts down so you can't hear it running.

Have you got a CD / DVD Writer to back up any data you need

This install has a quirk which isn't obvious, and it could take a while to track down

The best way forward is to back up the data, clear the drive, install XP, the firewall and anti virus, update those, run a scan and then go straight to Microsoft Update

I would also use boot and nuke to clear the drive when you have backed up the data

Let me know if you want any help with it

Keith, I will definitely need your help. Before all this I was planning on getting some USB flash drives to store my files anyway so I will get them this weekend. Let me get that together and I will get back to you at the latest on Monday :whistling:

No rush, if you have a CD / DVD writer you can also use that

This is about boot and nuke, using boot and nuke is clickable

To completely erase all data on the drive(s)

Download Boot and Nuke

Using Boot and Nuke

See you next week
