:whistling: At some point over the last month or so, we lost the use of our CD-RW drive and the DVD drive. The doors open and close and that's about it. I tried going into the Device Manager, deleting the drivers, and rebooting the PC, but it didn't work.

Also, we can listen to downloaded music on here, but no sound from the internet?!

Any ideas?

This will let a GTG malware specialist assist you in what could be a malware problem.
read this before posting your log however :whistling:

There are 5 steps...try them...if the first 4 fail then post your log using step 5.

Good luck.

In device manager, you can click the CD / DVD drives and click uninstall then reboot, rather than uninstalling the drivers

Do you know which soundcard you have

I can't uninstall the CD and DVD...just the drivers. I have a JLMS DVD-ROM XJ-HD166 and SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-248F. I've tried downloading the drivers from the Dell Driver site, but not sure if I'm doing that right. I'm going to try to run through all the spy/malware programs and antivirus again to see if that might find anything else.

It says SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio.
