I'm helping someone out with this.

I set up the laptop to connect to a wireless router and set WEP PSK security. All working fine, no problems.

One day the laptop was being used and the grandson bashed the keyboard. The wireless connection was lost and now it won't reconnect.

It sees the network but when he clicks on the Connect button it goes through the motion of connecting then goes back to the window with the Connect button still showing.

I got him to remove the network and try again and enter the network key, but the same thing happens.

Any suggestions?
