Am using Ubuntu 6.06 and trying to use Evolution as a mail reader.

When I refresh the list of newsgroups, it lists everything alphabetically up to "Symantec" and then just spins its wheels and eventually stops. I can subscribe any of the groups listed, but the ones I want start with W so they are unavailable.

Very strange. Has anyone seen similar behaviour?

I had it working, then reformatted/repartitioned/reinstalled, and now it shows this problem, so I have no idea what could be different.

You might try the other OS forum you are more likely to find someone who knows the OS better, Linux is a different kettle of fish application wise and help wise and people who are familiar with linux dont often check in here to much as its mostly windows based apps here.
