does this installer window say anything? if so what?
There is a possibility that is connected to your recent removal of the Yahoo companion toolbar.

using Hijack this remove this entry and making sure all windows, including this one, are closed select "fixed checked"

O3 - Toolbar: &Yahoo! Companion - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - C:\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\COMPAN~1\Installs\cpn\ycomp5_5_7_0.dll (file missing)
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

next go to start>control panel>add/remove programs and remove

viewpoint

then boot to safe mode and delete this file:

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\

then post a fresh log and let us know how everthing is working
