After being fed up with Apple iPod problems, I was convinced to purchase an iRiver H10 Mp3 player on the understanding that while the software for the iRiver is only Windows XP Compatible, I was told that it would still work on my Mac Power PC: That it would appear on my desktop as an external drive and i would be able to drag and drop mp3 files onto it straight from my iTunes.

However I cannot get the iRiver to even register that it is connected to my computer when i plug it into the USB port. It does not even appear on my desktop.

Following are my computer specs:

Mac OS X (version 10.3.9)
1.07 GHz PowerPC G4

I have heard about an application called Virtual PC... would this help? Are there any other tricks that would assist me?

Or is the iRiver completely redundant to an Apple Mac user.

Thankyou.
