I have 5 computers networked together in my home and after installing Windows XP on the computer, it will not let other computers on the network to access this computer. I can access all other computers from this computer but not the other way around.

I am somewhat new to networking but I am computer literate. I have tried several things, but all failed.

I also developed this problem at my work when we have 2 computers networked together and they both had windows 2000 pro installed and worked perfect. After installing windows XP Pro on one of them, I can no longer access the computer that I installed XP on but can still access the 2000 computer from the XP machine.

xp pro SP2 comes with a built in firewall...you have to allow file sharing through the firewall for it to work...

or you could simply turn the firewall off, if you have any other firewalls running not the windows one you have to allow file sharing on them aswell
