I have a Winfast DV2000H Tuner.
It works great for watching TV FM radio, and cable television, I'm converting some old 70's/80's documentary's to file and DVD pretty easily. It has a remote that access's the FM and TV/cable/video as well as my DVD program (which is Power DVD).

The problem i'm having is the volume controls, Power DVD's volume can be lower by the volume controls on screen by the mouse/key's but not the remote, with the winfast tv veiwer and radio. I cant change the volume controls at all. (not mouse, remote nothing). I've tried re-installing a few times, to no avail.
The audio-out control line is set to auxillary, the reording is currently set to line in, and the recording volume works, just not the master volume control.
It's just fustrating not being able to use the remote/TV program to control volume, I have to use the volume on the sub or windows master volume. All other functions work so far (change channel etc.)
any thoughts?

I'm sorry HaraldR, that went straight over my head, could you explain your post.

The winfast remote will only control InterVideo WinDVD player
(Found on Winfast cd that comes with TV card).

It won't or can not control PowerDVD player.
The remote will turn your computer on and off.
It will control winfast TV / FM adjusting volume change channels and if you use InterVideo WinDVD player then it will control dvd chapters adjust volume pause and other DVD features remotely.
If you choose to use PowerDVD then these controls can only be done via keyboard or mouse.

Granted it will not control Power DVD, only chapters etc. But that is not my major concern. The problem is the volume controls in TV / FM. They cannot be controled at all. Not by remote, by mouse by keyboard anything inside the Winfast programs. I have to use volume on the subwoofer or windows volume.

The remote's(well all) volume buttons are useless, on the programs it was intended to be used on.

Why is that?
Software prob, not matching into the volume control of windows. I can't think how or why it would not work.

Go to
Control Panel/system/Hardware/Device Manager/sound,video and game controllers
are all the winfast drivers installed
are there any yellow!

No. The drivers are installed and working.

One thing I do remember is while installing, a message appeared something like "not a Windows XP approved product." or something like that, there is no XP compatible label on the box. But still, surely the volume should still work, Winfast wouldn't release the product (2006) knowing that would they?

I just realised you originally stated:

This should be "What you hear or aux" as line in is seperate from tuner input and would not record tuner sound' I set this to 100%

Open control panel/ Sound and Audio Devices /Advanced/ in Playback Control/ Properties/ Playback
(Do same for recording properties)

check that Auxiliary and Line-in are ticked,

close Properties (OK) close Playback Control ,then apply and OK

Hmmm. That's a good idea, that's where my thinking is anyway. But no, didn't help (the settings are already correct).
I've checked everywhere in Sounds and audio devices...


If I go into device manager and go to "Winfast DTV2000 WDM Audio Capture" properties,
It says:
Use audio features on this device
do not use audio features on this device

do not map through this device

I have selected use audio features on this device


As far as settings go.... that's about it.

I might send an email to Leadtek.....
