Hello, I'm a new user here and this is my first post.

I have recently purchased Acer 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor. Also buying a new Video card since the one I have is very old and doesn't support this high resolution. What I want to do is to connect my Settellite Receiver with my LCD monitor (without going through computer since I may loose quality).

Can anyone help me with this? I have tried getting a cable that has S-Video on one end and the VGA on the other but that doesn't work since there is no chip involved and I'm assuming singles coming from Settelite receiver is not supported by my Monitor??

What do I need to connect these two?? I have an A/B data trasfer box for VGA..would this work as well?
Really really appreciate your help.

Acer Monitor: AL1916W
Dish Network: DISH351 receiver

Thank you.
