Just did some recent updates on a PC with Windows 2000 and got an error on one or more updates and was prompted to restart. I didnt restart trying to see if I could reinstall them but the windows update site kept saying I had to restart so I did and the computer would keep restarting as windows was loading. Finally I booted into safe mode and uninstalled the last few updates and was able to boot up normally. I downloaded the updates again successfully and restarted without any problems.

I have had this happen on several machines running Windows 2000. Does anyone know if this is a common problem and/or how to prevent it?
