Looking for help with this error.....i recently was trying to install a fresh copy of xp pro onto my other drive to do a dual boot and swap over my files...but...i kept getting a stop error 0x0000007b..

both drives are identical and are ntfs.

Now my prob is ...in trying get in to the drive i must have deleted some files.

I am missing ntldr file ...which i have now put onto a boot.ini disk i made from my laptop.

But now i am showing that hal.dll is missing or corrupt..

This has all been a result of Norton Anitvirus messing stuff up.

If i could reinstall winxp pro onto my empty drive i would be saved...Any thoughts on how to do this..

Or is there a way to rescue what mess i made of the other.

Btw my C: drive is my primary but doesnt contain the operating system...D: drive is second but contains the operating system...this was done previously for a similar switch to clean OS and i swapped the mobo.
