Dear forum,

When I click on a download link in IE I just get a blank window (or none at all) so I searched the internet and found a fix on microsoft's page which is to run regsvr32 /i oleaut32 (amongst other dlls). They all worked except this one, which results in the error message: "oleaut32 was loaded, but the DllInstall entry point was not found. oleaut32 does not appear to be a dll or ocx file."

I then did some more searching, downloaded a cab file from IE5 and tried to expand that file to try to make the oleaut32 file work properly but it didn't fix things. I then found all oleaut32.dll files on my machine, renamed them and pasted the oleaut32.dll file which I found on a dll site in all of the folders but it still doesn't sort it. I really don't want to reinstall my OS, and I don't have my XP or IE discs to hand either as this is the machine in my parents house and I'm up visiting so all my stuff is back at mine - can anyone help?

Thanks,

Fiona
