I am on a limited budget at this time, trying to finish a master's of science degree, and needing to purchase a 'new' computer to replace an existing home computer which is nonfunctional. This 'new' computer will be used for basic data analysis and word processing (e.g., the standard Excel and Microsoft Word software) and more advanced analysis that includes working with large graphics (e.g., ArcView software and the capacity to download large base maps). I have been looking at the Tigerdirect.com website
http://www.tigerdire...940&msg=1076885 It looks like there are some good deals on this website. Does anyone know if this particular company is reputable (e.g., know of anyone who has purchased a product from this website and been satisfied with the product) or have general recommendations on whether it is wise to go with a refurbished computer from a website like this or invest in a completely new computer (from a reputable company like Dell Computers)?
Thanks,
Nora
