I want to let my users upload a file from their computer to my website. Can someone point me to instructions on how to do that? Thanks.

I don't use forum software.

I want to put a button on a webpage that says "upload," for example. When the user clicks on it, they get an Open dialog for files on their local computer.

I've seen this on some websites, but I don't remember where.

http://www.j-fx.ws/ffh/. Not the best I have seen, but if you want it quickly, few settings and you're done.

I should have asked you whether you have a hosting service and are using a CPanel? If you are, you can navigate to the section which will set this up for you to allow people to upload to your page(s).

If you have a php website you can add a simple file upload script. There is a demo of where you can upload files and test it out. Full disclosure - I am the owner of the website and the php file upload script on the site.
