Access Denied message when saving word doc

hi, new to the forums, heard you guys are good.

having a bit of a problem with microsoft word. i can open a file and make changes but wen i come to save it i get a message saying 'access denied' i have checked it is nothing to do with the file being read only and it is the only one open. i am opening and trying to save this file from my documents as i usually would.

any help greatly appreciated

Open Word, click help then detect and repair, tick restore shortcuts

Can you open a document, click file then save as, if so, can you open the new document and save changes to it?
