Hi Guys,

Once again a daughter who has brought me a computer with a problem. I've runned every imaginable spyware program first of all but here is the essenence of the problems.

Opening explorer for the internet is not the problem. Once I try to go anywhere else all heck breaks loose and the cpu usage goes to 100% causing overheating if I let it continue. Closing explorer needs to be forced.

Any help I would appreciate the log is as follows.

Hi tomakaz and Welcome to GeekstoGo!

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
  • You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
  • When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

You did fine! :whistling:

Download WinPFind to your C Drive.
http://download.blee...r/winpfind2.zip

Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"

Don't use it yet

Reboot into SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)

From the WinPFind folder-> Doubleclick WinPFind.exe to launch the program.

Under File Options,Click the Select All tab.

Now,Click the "Files" Tab at the top and Click "Scan Files"

The scan will take a few minutes to complete.

Once you see Scan Complete,Click Configuration and then Click Export to Text

Click Yes to the prompt that follows and this will generate a log in the WinPFind folder

Restart Normal and post the log from WinPFind please.

Sorry but when I run WinPfind in "Safe Mode" I can access the entire screen. The default settings of the video display is large and I cannot see the whole selections. I run the scan but cannot find the tab to export. What else could I do - Thanks

Hey I finally figured out how to do it by counting the tabs when I couldn't see it. Here is the log.

Thanks again for your patience.

Go ahead and get rid of PFind, theres more work to be done on that program.

Download ComboFix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combo.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished and after reboot, it should open a log, combofix.txt.

Post the contents of combofix.txt into the next reply.

I ran the file but I had quite of few errors and nothing the file LSA.TXT was blank.
The errors were typical by file.

Cannot Export files\4.txt:Error opening the file. There may be a desk or file system error.

this was the same for *.txt 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13.

I then ran the batch file with those lines deleted and nothing was printed to LSA.txt.

Did I have to run this in safe mode?

Otherwise I will be running the other items you suggested.

I'll let you know how things look later.

Thank you
