Hello and Welcome! :whistling:

Please download VundoFix (http://www.atribune..../click.php?id=4) to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • It will make a logfile named C:\vundofix.txt, please post this log in your next reply.

Hi, Thank you for your help.

It can back with the results.

"No files found"

I ran this file before and it did at that point find files.

However ad-aware picked it up again a couple of days later.
(detected it but wouldnt remove it)

However it seems to be gone again. :whistling:

(I have run that many malware / spyware removal tools that it may have removed it without me noticing)

However the popups still excist.

from: Adware/outerinfo/doubleclick/oid

Just for you info i do have the old log file of when it did find files if that helps.....

Ok, first I want to check somethings before we do some fixing.

Please go here (http://virusscan.jotti.org/) and upload and scan the files listed below:
C:\WINDOWS\ICROSO~1.NET\fast.exe
Note: Icroso~1.net is the first six letters of the name for that folder.

Save the results and post them in your next reply.

Copy everything inside the quote box below (starting with dir) and paste it into notepad. Go up to "File > Save As" and click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as findfile.bat on your Desktop.

dir C:\Documents and Settings\Simon\My Documents\?dobe\ /a h > files.txt
notepad files.txt

Locate findfile.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. It will open Notepad with some text in it. Please post the contents of that Notepad here along with a new HiJackThis log, and the Jotti scan results.

Okay, let's get start then. :whistling:

Download CWShredder and run it. Click Check for Update. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree. Click on Fix (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and then click OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit.

Re-open HiJackThis and fix the following:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = prosearching.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchURL = prosearching.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchURL = prosearching.com
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = prosearching.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = prosearching.com
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = prosearching.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = prosearching.com

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {2957B744-5D86-7570-F0EB-02D58B59EAEE} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\habli.dll
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {2957B744-5D86-7570-F0EB-02D58B59EAEE} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\habli.dll

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Auor] "C:\WINDOWS\ICROSO~1.NET\fast.exe" -vt ndrv

O20 - Winlogon Notify: wingdm32 - wingdm32.dll (file missing)

Close HJT.

Find and delete this folder:
C:\WINDOWS\ICROSO~1.NET\
Note: Icroso~1.net is the first six letters of the name for that folder.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\habli.dll

  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

Please post back with a new HiJackThis log.

Okay, looking good now! :whistling:

Re-open HJT and fix this:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Sqtfejp] C:\Documents and Settings\Simon\My Documents\?dobe\??rss.exe

Find and delete this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\Simon\My Documents\?dobe\

? may be any number of letter, but if it starts with A, don't delete it.

Restart your computer and post a new HJT log please.

We have a couple of last steps to perform and then you're all set.

First, let's reset your hidden/system files and folders. System files are hidden for a reason and we don't want to have them openly available and susceptible to accidental deletion.
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading UNSELECT Show hidden files and folders.
* CHECK the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Next, let's clean your restore points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)1. Turn off System Restore. On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Restart your computer.

3. Turn ON System Restore. On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
[/list]System Restore will now be active again.

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:
  • SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
  • SpywareGuard to catch and block spyware before it can execute.
  • IESpy-Ad to block access to malicious websites so you cannot be redirected to them from an infected site or email.
You should also have a good firewall. Here are 3 free ones available for personal use:and a good antivirus (these are also free for personal use):It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visitmonthly. And to keep your system clean run these free malware scannersweekly, and be aware of what emails you open and websites you visit.

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read this article by Tony Klien: So how did I get infected in the first place?

Have a safe and happy computing day!
