my ZyDas ZD1211 USB 802.11b/g wireless adapter has extremely poor range as far as its ability to pick up, connect to, and use a wireless network. for example, in places my dad's Dell laptop sees wireless networks with a decent signal strength, this thing sees them at a low or very low signal strength (20% or less) and in places the said Dell and other laptops see a wireless network with fair or low signal strength but still enough to be useable, this ZD1211 adapter will not see them at all. the adapter is configured and used with the ZyDas wireless configuration tool it came with. i have tried both USB 1.1 and 2.0 as the interface, to no differance. am i not configuring the settings correctly or something??? what is the deal with it?? is there anything i can do???

please help!
