MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-845E dual layer burning capabilities?

according to apple it can burn Dual layer discs, but ive been reading online it cant. I have a powerbook g4 1.67 ghz with MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-845E superdrive burner. I got my powerbook july 2005. Can you please tell me if I can burn DVD++R dual layer discs and if so, how?

From what I understand, the E on your model number means that the drive is NOT capable (by default) of performing DL burns, as the later model (845) CAN burn. Now if that can be resolved with simply enabling the funcionality with firmware, I wouldn't know.
