:tazz:

I have to backup big files (huge) within a W2k environment. I am trying to copy a 5 GB file within one Server, from one partition to the next. I've let it run for about 4 hs. (copy, paste) and the time remaining just goes up (20000 min. left ...) and it just never copies. I've tried using the w2k backup tool, no luck. I've tried locally over FTP, no luck. I've tried xcopy over CMD, also nothing. I have one file splitting software, but that creates 5000 lil 1MB files, which take for ever to create and to assemble, it's like 3 hour task. Crazy!!!
I would like to know if there is any 3rd party software or MS software that can support large file copying?!
thanks for the help.

google didn't get me anywhere.

You could try using WinRAR to split the file into 700 mb pieces and transfer em over with like 8 CDs... It's a lot of cds but it should work.

[EDIT] Whoops didn't see how old this was.... :tazz:
