Hi,
I've got an assignment due for a college course that requires me to upload a website that I created using Microsoft Word Web Wizard so that the class can see it. My ISP and university don't seem to have free space for me to use. I'm not even sure how to upload this thing. I've got a folder with htm files among some others, just not sure what to do with them. I signed up for Geocities free page, but I couldn't figure out how to upload my web page that I created with Word Web Wizard. Sorry to sound confused, but I am. Can someone help, I'm stressed. Thanks.

free-webhosts.com has a database of free webhosts and what they offer - pick one that satisfies your needs (preferably one without ads). as for the uploading: your webhost gives you a url that you need to use to manage your site (starts with ftp - probably the most important protocol after http on the web). ftp means File Transfer Protocol; a protocol is a set of rules that determines what which computer (client/server) has access to and can do.
to manage your site online it is wise to have an ftp program/client. i suggest you to use smartftp client at http://www.smartftp.com/download/ (i use it). it is free to use; the only thing is a reminder will show every time you open it giving you the OPTION (NOT mandatory) to register. use the password and url your webhost gave you to access your site. the interface is pretty windows explorerie

I like CuteFTP, but you can upload with plain old Internet Explorer. You just need to set up an account to have somewhere to upload your files to. Remember that you main page needs to be named "index.htm".
