I was online when my computer froze up. I tried control, alt, delete and it didn't work. I held the on button down for 5 seconds and the computer shut off. I tried to turn it on and couldn't get past the Dell screen. It finally gave me two options. Hit F1 to try to reboot; that just keeps repeating the same thing on each line, but nothing happens. The other option is F2 for system setup? I am not sure what I need to do to get this computer up and running. It is a Dell Dimension3000 desktop with windows XP, 512 ram. Thanks for all help!!

Try F2, it should give you BIOS set up, if so, look for and load BIOS defaults / fail safe defaults, press F10 to save, type Y and press enter to reboot

There is no BIOS setup. The following is shown when I hit F2

Hard-Disk Drive Sequence
Boot Sequence
Memory Information
CPU Information
Integrated Devices (Legacy Select Option)
Power Management
System Security
Keyboard NumLock
Report Keyboard Errors
Auto Power On
Fast Boot
OS Install Mode
Limit CPUID Value
IDE Hard Drive Acoustics Mode
System Event Log
Asset Tag

When the computer starts up, I get the following screen:

Primary Drive 0 not found
Primary Drive 1 not found
Secondary drive 1 not found

Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility

The list in post 3 is the BIOS set up, if you press the right arrow from that screen, does it offer more screens

I tried but I am not getting any more screens. The right side of esch line allows you to change an item. For instance, on the first line, Drive Configuration, there is <Enter> where I can arrow over and change the entry's. Unfortunately, there are NO more screen available. My computer does is hooked up to a wireless router with high speed intenet. Can either of those two be causing the problem?? :whistling:
