Dear all, I have installed Creative Webcam Driver. But i have problems detecting the hardware after that.
Error Message reads: Windows cannot start this hardware device because it's configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).
On the Add Hardware Menu, there is an exclamation mark for the Creative Web Vista.
Also, my scanner isn't working anymore. It was usable 2 weeks ago & the same exlamation mark shows on Add Hardware Menu.
Please advise.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. First, try rolling back the driver on the scanner. Got to start, my computer right click, properties, hardware tab, device manager. Find the scanner which as you said has a yellow ! nex to it. Right click on the device, properties, driver tab. One of the options is to roll back the driver. This should take it back to what it was before you installed the new webcam.

Next, the web cam. You can do the same thing with it, except instead of roll back, select update the driver. Let windows go to the internet if needed, to get the correct driver for this.

I tried the above & the same error msg still reads: Windows cannot start this hardware device because it's configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).
I tried on the Webcam & it says the same error msg. I've even tried uninstalling & reinstalling the driver too.
Please advise.

You could try removing the hardware and then let windows re-detect and install it.

Hi Austin,

I've tried all that but it is still the same error message. Is it the registry that was messed up?
Please advise.
