So I'm sitting here today and I'm trying to open excel to look at the budget. It can't open the file, it claims that it is "Unable to read file." So I try Microsoft Office Excel Viewer 2003. It says "The file cannot be opened because your virus scanner has detected a problem with the file." Tried to open it in MS Word, and it says "The file 2006 Budget is not available." I need this file. Can someone help me get it restored?

Thanks in advance,
John

It sounds like you may have a virus issue. You can try transferring the file to another computer, however, if it carries a virus, you would not want to do that. In order to see if you have anything suspicious on your system, I suggest posting your HijackThis logfile in our malware section, where one of our malware experts will analyze your log and help you treat any nasties you may have.
