Norton 2003- Virus protection turned off

I have Notron Antivirus 2003. I do have an active account subscription. However, I keep getting a popup message indicating that "Virus protection is turned off" However, it looks like everything is active. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. The company (symantec) indicates that they do not support the product anymore (but they did let me pay for the subscription :whistling:
