Can someone please tell me how to change my desktop display? When I go to desktop on the display properties it will not let me change teh background.

that depends...is there ANY desktop currently displayed or is there just a simple blue background?

There are several malware infections that disable your ability to change desktops

start > run, type
regedit
<enter>

navigate to
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

What do you see in here? Two subfolders? System? Explorer?

When you click on them, in the right pane are there any restrictions?

there is explorer folder but no system folder inside the explorer folder it has (default) cdrautorun nodrive typeautorun
