:whistling: I hope Im posting this is the right area.Recently my computer has been running very slow.
Opening up programs and running internet explorer.I have ran anti virus programs spyware even registry programs to try to resolve the problem but nothing seems to work and I cant seem to find the problem. If anyone here can help me with this I would be very happy.I just dont know what more I can do.TY

Also I have tried to run system restore and that will not work either.I have also recently downloaded the new internet explorer 7 beta but the problem also was there before but seems alot slower now.

the first thing we are going to do is turn off indexing ....its a resource hog and if you aren't searching for things on your computer 10 times a day it will only slow down your system....

click on start...my computer...right click on C: drive....properties...on the general tab..unckeck ...allow indexing on this drive....if you do not have the box on your system...

then START...RUN...type in SERVICES.MSC...then OK...scroll down until you find INDEXING SERVICE...click on it and in the general tab set it to DISABLED...then exit

then get ccleaner and run it....

next get diskeeper lite

defragging does not hurt your computer...you do not have to defrag in safe mode with diskeeper lite and its 10 times as fast than the defragger that comes with windows

when you get done see how it feels and get back to us

yep I can fix IE for you ...get firefox...its lighter on your system...its faster...its more secure and after using it for awhile ..you will never go back to IE ..PERIOD...

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

if you are on broadband get fasterfox to tweak the settings for you..it does it by itself..this wont work with dialup...
