How to burn picture CDs in home DVD player

I can burn individual pictures to a CD but they won't play on my home DVD player. What software do I need to do this feature.

I am running Windows XP, Nero 6.0, 180 Gb hard drive (78% free), 512Mb Ram, 2.1 processor.

Any help would sure be appreciated.
