Ok, some files it just won't let me delete.

Ok........so i had "Internet explorer"......But downloaded firfox.........So i go to my computer, then program files and try to delete the folder called "Internet Explorer"....But it says :Cannot delete internet explorer it is being used by another person or file.

And it's not just "IE".......I have a file called "techsmith"(Which is a program that captures vidieo)......But nope.......It won't let me delete it.........

The most enoying thing is : I downloaded a thing called (hotbar).......Which is a very enoying toolbar thing.......But when i try to delete it the same thing happens.

Is there anyway to be able to delete files another way?.....

Thx, Beav3r.

....ok you cannot remove programs by just deleting the folders...that is the WORST way to do it...

to remove programs go to add/remove programs in controll panel and uninstall them

that said

do not uninstall internet explorer...xp is built around it and needs it to work correctly...if you prefer firefox...just use firefox...don't use ie..just leave it where it is (trust me)

for techsmith...use add/remove programs to uninstall it

for hotbar try using add/remove programs for it...if that doesn't get rid of it then Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty (and you may not be) then post a hijackthis log in THE MALWARE FORUM forum.
(Posting HiJack This logs in any other forum other than the malware forum is forbidden. If you post an HJT log in any other forum, it will be removed and it will take you longer to get help, so please make sure you only post HJT logs in the malware forum)

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
