I was infected with the Backdoor.Win32.SdBot.aad , computer said it is now quarantined, but it still seems to be running slow. Any help is much appreciated

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go!

• Reboot your computer into Safe Mode now. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while Ewido is scanning as it may interfere with the scanning process:
  
• Launch Ewido Anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  
• Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
  
• Ewido will now begin the scanning process. Be patient this may take a little time.
  Once the scan is complete do the following:
  
• If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
  
• Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
  
• Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
  
• Close Ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode.

Save it on your desktop.

Double click on win32delfkil.exe and install it. This creates a new folder on your desktop: win32delfkil.

Close all windows then open the win32delfkil folder and double click on fix.bat. The computer will reboot automatically.

Post the contents of the log file c:\windelf.txt, along with a new HijackThis log.

Before we go any further I'd like to mention that this worm steals personal information and you should change passwords and bank account numbers if you do any financial transactions on-line and/or have that type of information stored in your computer.

I would also like to see a log from WinpFind before proceeding.


Download WinPFind

• Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
  
• Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
  
• Don’t do anything with it yet!

Click here for info on how to boot to safe mode if you don't already know how.


Reboot into Safe Mode.


Double click WinPFind.exe

• Click "Start Scan"
  
• It will scan the entire System, so please be patient and let it complete.

Reboot back to Normal Mode!

• Go to the WinPFind folder
  
• Locate WinPFind.txt
  
• Copy and paste WinPFind.txt in your next post here please.

For the 1st file nothing was found....

When I tried to scan the 2nd this is what popped up:
"The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file"

Does your McAfee include a firewall? If so, please turn the firewall off and then try to upload that file again.

If not, locate the file, right click on it and copy it to your desktop. Then try to upload the copy from the desktop. Sometimes this works.

We need to disable Windows Defender, Ewido's realtime protection and TrojanHunter Guard before proceeding as they may interfere with the fix.

Windows Defender:
Click on "Tools"
Click on "General Settings"
Scroll down to "Real-time protection options"
Uncheck "Turn on Real-time protection (recommended)"
Click "Save"

Ewido:
Open ewido by double-clicking the yellow 'e' icon in the system tray.
In the 'Your security status' section, toggle the ewido Guard realtime protection 'off' by clicking 'active' which will then change the protection status to 'inactive'.
When you reboot, ewido will prompt you as to whether you would like to "Restart the guard?".
Reply 'no' and set it to 'inactive' for the duration of your cleanup.

Trojan Hunter:
Right click on the icon in your System Tray.
Make sure that the program, TrojanHunter itself, is also closed/not running.


Click Start - Run - and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find Daemon Desync Protocol Service.
Right click and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Start-up Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the Services utility.

Note: You may get an error here when trying to access the properties of the service. If you do get an error, just select the service and look there in the top left of the main service window and click "Stop" to stop the service. If that gives an error or it is already stopped, just skip this step and proceed with the rest.


Open HijackThis and click on the "Open Misc Tools section button. Now click on the "Delete an NT service" button. Copy and paste this line in that box:

DDPS

Click OK.


Go to Control Panel – Add/Remove programs and remove the following, if there:


MyWebSearch

I see you have Party Poker installed. These types of sites are high risk for malware, which often gets installed without your knowledge. So if you're not using it, I recommend you uninstall it.


Click Here and download Killbox and save it to your desktop but don’t run it yet.

Rescan with HijackThis, close all browser windows except HijackThis, put a check mark beside these entries and click fix checked.

• Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
  
• It will ask for confirmation to delete the file.
  
• Click Yes.
  
• Continue with that procedure until you have pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.
  
• Killbox may tell you that one or more files do not exist.
  
• If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.
  
• Next in Killbox go to Tools > Delete Temp Files
  
• In the window that pops up, put a check by ALL the options there except these three:
  • XP Prefetch
    
  • Recent
    
  • History
  
  
• Now click the Delete Selected Temp Files button.
  
• Exit the Killbox.

Unzip the FixMatt.zip file that you saved to your desktop earlier and double click on the FixMatt.reg file and allow it to enter into the registry.



Reboot and post another HijackThis log along with the results of a new Panda ActiveScan please.
