can't access aim and hotmail is iffy!

I have already dl-ed all the things suggested before posting a question and followed all the steps. I am just trying to understand why my aim has all of a sudden decided to not let me log on. I am currently using dead aim and this problem only popped a couple days ago, after i brought my pc back home from college and allowed my sister to dl a bunch of songs on bearshare. I assume its prob a virus gotten from one of these songs, but I dont know how to fix it!! ANY help would be great!! THank you!!
