Is there any way to recover from this or get some data off of it????

Most likely you can get the data off, but it depends on what is wrong. If it is just a bad data block, it is not a big deal.

I would suggest that you go to the web site of the manufacturer of the disk and see if they have a testing/diagnostics program. Run that. Often limited data problems can be remapped. If there are a lot of problems, then you need to get another disk.
