You didn't do anything wrong. We'll get back to that later. Just go head and download the other program and follow the instructions.

Then I need you to download yet another program for me:

Right click on the desktop. Go to NEW > FOLDER - click on it. Name the folder whatever you want.

Please click on the link below to download this program:
http://www.atribune....nloads/find.zip

*Download "Find.zip" to the desktop folder that you made. Make sure to Extract All Files!
*Double Click "Find.bat" and let it scan the PC - takes only seconds.
*Look back in the Folder you downloaded to and locate "Report.txt"
*Double Click "Report.txt" and Copy the entire contents of the log and paste it in an e-mail to me.

Opps sorry that "it's going to be long" part wasn't supposed to get posted. (Thought I erased it!) Let me look over the previous log you posted and I will get right back to you!

All of the programs I am having you run are just searching for files on your computer, so, no, not much progress, unfortunately. We will get there! I will think about our next course of action and will get right back to you!

You may want to create a folder on the desktop to download and extract this to.

Download
1) About:Buster:
*Navigate to the AboutBuster directory and double-click on AboutBuster.exe.
*Click "OK" at the prompt with instructions.
*Click "Update" and then "Check For Update" to begin the update process.
*If any updates exist please download them by clicking "Download Update".

Run AboutBuster and save the logs
*Browse to where you saved AboutBuster and run AboutBuster.exe.
*Click "OK" at the directions Read: Important! prompt.
*Click "Start" and then "OK" to allow AboutBuster to scan for Alternate Data Streams.
*Click "Yes" at the About:Buster prompt to allow it to shutdown explorer.exe.
*Please wait while AboutBuster scans your computer for malicious files. If it asks if you would like to do a second pass, allow it to do so.
*When it has finished, click "Save Log...". Make sure you save it as I will need a copy of it.
Click "Exit" and "Exit" again to exit AboutBuster.

Ok we're going to try this, I won't be surprised if it doesn't work, but we're trying it anyway!

Reboot in safe mode, (continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears, use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter) Logon has Administrator (if it gives you a choice), then run the Hoster program that it wouldn't let you run before. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program and then let me know how it went.

Open HijackThis (click on "None of the above just start the program")
*Click Config
*Click Misc Tools
*Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
*Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
*Click Save, copy, and paste the results in your next post

I was unable to run the program as you indicated. I mean I wasn't able to press any button to restore original Hosts and then press ok. However, while I was in safe mode I was able to click the start menu and then arrow over the all programs icon and the computer DIDN'T freeze up. I don't know if this helps or not.

Thanks,
The General

Michelle,

Something else I forgot that may be noteworthy. When I rebooted from safe mode to normal mode I got this pop up:

Runtime Error
Program ...tware Updater 7288971\Program\Kodak Software Updater.exe.
abnormal program termination

Michelle,

I am an idiot and wasn't thinking. When I was in safe mode the I couldn't connect to the internet, thus I figured the hoster didn't work. I just reran the program in safe mode with networking and it worked.

Sorry about any inconvenience or wasted time.

This is the one I wanted you to run in Safe Mode (that you downloaded earlier)

Download the Hoster from here: HERE. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.

Michelle,

I am confused. Do you want me to return to safe mode and run the hoster program from the log on your new post, OR run the Hoster program in normal mode
