The intel P4 is the better processor. BUT! i have built a dozen of so intel celeron 2.93 computers for people that are happy as a clam with them. These people really don't know a lot about computers and most just want to play games like myst, surf the net, email, and generally just putz around. The price is right for them( around $400) and the computer is plenty fast enough.

ok, i have the pent 4 in my computer right now, i was wondering if it would speed up my computer if i put in the celeron

No it would be a significant reduction in speed unless the p4 is really slow.
