hey,

i have a imac g5 (ambient light sensor) 20" computer with 512mb already in it.

im thinking of upgrading to 1 gig.

i have 2 memory slots in the computer, 1 has already been taken up with the 512 chip.

should i buy another 512 and put it in the other slot, or buy a 1 gig chip and take the other one out, or should i buy a 1 gig chip and just place it in the other slot with the 512 mb.

i want to do it the right way so i can get the fastest speed out of my imac.

i appreciate the help

If you can find a 1gig stick that is te same speed as your 512, I would go for that. I think that will get the most speed out of your machine.
