Problems running DOS Abandonware games in XP

Hi, im new around here.
I saw the the topic about the same problem but with the ME operating system.
This is weird. I could use these games, like Monkey Island 1 and 2 and ect. Then a virus got my PC and I had to reinstall Windows (the very same one i had before) and now i cant play the games! ;)
It says:
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
config.nt. The system file isn't appropiate to execute MS-DOS and Windows aplications. Click "Close" to finish the aplication."

Whats wrong?? Please :tazz:
