I have had this problem for a few weeks now. Everytime I try to start Windows Explorer, i get an error:

explorer.exe - app error - the instructino at '0x03050065" referenced memory at "0x00...". The memory could not be written.

I click okay, then it freezes for a few seconds, then i get a Dr. Watson has encountered a problem and needs to close. The same things happens when i try to open Control Panel.

I also have a graphics related problem - that is why i got the spyware removal software in the first place. My resolution is not 32 bit even though it shows it on the display settings. I get patches in my images and video.

I think it is related to either some adware problem or an adware tool i used a few weeks ago.

I have XP2, Ad-Aware, and Sypbot along with a corporate norton anti-virus suite.

Do i have to re-install XP? Please tell me there is a way to restore my system files?
