Suddenly, and it has happened before, my computer has gone into safe mode. In the past it has gone back, but this time, despite numerous restarts and selecting normal mode after having pressed F5 at start up, I am left with an oversized blurry screen. This happened when I was online. Could you help me attain a normal mode of operation again? The laptop is old and regularly takes a phenomenal amount of time to start up.

Please Help!

It happened when you were online. Any specific website?

Scan your machine for viruses/malware.

when you say you're stuck in safe mode...does the computer have "safe mode" in the four corners of the screen? or are the icons just oversized and blurry?
