My laptop is LANed, no wireless. I can ping other computers and access shared folders from them but they cannot see me as well as my shared folders. It is in the same IP range of the LAN.

The windows firewall is turned off and I use no personal firewalls at all.

Anybody could help me resolve this issue?

Thanks

Same Workgroup? And have you set up the IP/TCP setting youself? See if you can type \\the_computer_your_trying_to_access's_ipaddress
on the mashines that 'cant access your pc'
Tell me when ya can.

Check the workgroup like stated.

If you used DHCP make sure it has obtained a IP address and not a dummy 169.x.x.x address but one that falls into your specified IP pool.

If you set it up static, be sure you are in the same subnet and IP group.
