strange folder problem

when i double click a folder it opens the search......i have to right click it and choose open :whistling: how do i fix this? only thing I've done to the folders is change the icon

Here, after reading your post I tried it myself and found you're right, it does screw up file folder opening. Googled it for 5 seconds and quickly found this, just run it and they'll be back to normal.

Guess what.... my folders are f***ed again... opens explore insted of open, that genious file doesen't work for it :whistling:

It did for me..

Did you try to change the icon again, or did you change anything else for that matter?

I didn't do anything at all, i changed icon, got pissed, posted my problem here, downloaded the file, fixed it. The next day, when I started my computer, the folders were [bleep]ed :whistling:

Change the icon back, re-apply the fix, and reboot
worked for me, anyway, and I didnt fancy any folder look changes

Try a program to change the look, instead of fiddling in it urself, you'll just endup screwing up windows that way, believe me, its very delicate sometimes

why not? these programs are designed to do what you want to do, but they've been designed to make it simple for you, and make it safe. Give em a shot
