The 1st and the 2nd url's did not pam out.
But i got some results from the 3rd url.
I got back some DMA's , but on mine two
secondary IDE channel on the current transfer
mode, it state that is " not applicable". What
does that mean. Thanks for puting me in the right
direction. I really appreacite your help

The real thing is tht a 52 speed cdrom drive will not transfer 16 Mb/s. Your really lucky to get 8 MB/s. So it really does not matter what DMA mode these drives are running in. Since PIO4 or DMA 2 are the same speed at 16.6 Mb/s and the drives wont even reach this speed it really is not applicable. That is the reason most people wont put a HD and a cdrom(or dvd)drive on the same channel. The HD will revert to the same speed as the cdrom drive when on that channel.

I considered this part of the problems solved. Now i going
to work on the upper and lower filters.
