Hi, Please can anybody :blink: me I have <windows root>\system32\hal.dll. keep poping up on my boot up on my computer.

I have tryed starting in safe mode but the same thing keeps coming up, I have no WINDOWS XP cd with the computer so I can not reboot.

Can I make a boot up disk with my other computer to fix this ? (also windows xp) :whistling:

Please help me I do not know what to do anymore :help:

If you can borrow an XP CD which is the same version as you have, a repair install will probably be quickest and the most straightforward

Generally, boot disks will only load enough to boot the PC, you would still need to replace files from an XP CD
