My computer was recently infected with the Nove Portal Single User Service. There were random pop-ups when I connected to the internet and my system restore was disabled, run command was missing from the Start Menu and Search box was disabled. I followed all the steps from the forum to clean it up but still have a couple of problems which are:
1) I'm unsure if the spyware/virus is completely removed from my computer.
2) System Restore is still disabled. I cannot turn it on even from Computer Management Services.
3) The Run option is still missing from Start Menu
4) The Search option for searching through the hard drive is missing. If I click on the search option from any menu, nothing happens.
My computer config is as follows:
Pentium 4 3.06GHz, 512MB RAM 160 GB HDD, Windows XP SP2, Antivirus: Bitdefender 8 Free Edition.
