I reinstalled WindowsXP on my comp, but kept the initial install to save the files from the bad install.. Which I had no problem with.. Now I want to go back, and delete the initial install, and keep the new install as my only one..

This will remove that, however, you will need to check how many windows folders you have

Click Start then Run, type msconfig then press enter

Click on the BOOT.INI tab

Click on Check All Boot Paths

If Windows finds a corrupt or additional install of XP, it will ask you if it's okay to delete the entry for the unused/older/corrupt version. Click Yes / OK and then reboot

it shows both installs, but when i click that option, it says "It appears that all BOOT.INI lines for Microsoft operating systems are OK."
