So my laptop crashed in february and wouldnt even boot, then one day it decides that it wants to work again. I don't use it often at all, but i have had it for 4 years. My computer seems to get really really hot and then starts this clicking sound, (like its trying to read a disc or something) and then a few minutes later, i get this. Sometimes i can restart my computer just fine, and other times, it wont even boot. HELP!

Boot the PC, keep tapping F8 as it loads, then select safe mode, when it gets to the desktop, click start then run, type chkdsk /f /r then press enter, type Y, press enter then reboot

It will start to load then the screen may go blank, do not disturb it until it gets to the desktop, which could be an hour or longer

right now its not letting me boot. I get a boot device screen with the options of

Hard Disk
CD-Rom/DVD
Diskette A (selected)
Internal Lan

None of these options work, except the system restore disk

selected safe mode and still nothing. just went back to the boot device screen with hard disk, cdrom/dvd, diskette a and internal lan as options

I hit the reset button on the back and its now taking me into windows...ill do the disk check thing now.

okay im back to nothing...windows didnt end up booting, so i restarted and it still wont take me to any boot options
