desktop icons white

hey guys my little bro somehow got it so most of the desktop icons aren't the graphical 1's but white and also some in the pinned start menu section are like that 2.. how do I restore these icons to there original graphical 1s? i've tried everything I kno i'm @ a standstill :whistling: i've given links to 2 screenshots so you'll know what i mean better and can hopefully help me fix this :blink: http://img291.images...95/iconsqv7.jpg

Two things you can try.

1. Right-click the desktop >> Properties >> Appearance tab >> Effects. Checkmark the use large icons box and click OK then Apply >> OK.

2. Enable hidden files/folders. Open C:\Documents and Settings\*Username*\Local Settings\Application Data and delete the file IconCache.db then reboot.

If noahdfear's suggestion doesn't work, try this:

download TweakUI from here:
http://download.micr...wertoySetup.exe

Install it and then run it. In the menu to the right, click on REPAIR pick Rebuild Icons. Now click on Repair Now

thank you so much guys :help: ! your life or er computer savers! :blink: awsome advice guys and thanks for that utility didn't know it existed..wish I woulda known bout it before hand woulda saved me couple hrs on this stupid comp :whistling:
