Hi,

I was wondering what to do about slotch, xxxtoolbar and the rest of the irritating nonsense that stops my laptop running smoothly. If I could I'd like to hunt down the creators of the viruses, torture them, murder them, tie their remains to the back of my car and drive around the world as a warning to others. Since this seems tricky could you help me with cleaning up my computer?
Thanks

Hi jonnym and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. Go to Geeks to Go
. Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window. (make sure you have signed in first)
. In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
. If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there

2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. The upper half of your HijackThis log is missing and is essential to our work. In addition, you have HJT located in a Temp folder. It needs to be placed in its own folder so that it does not get deleted accidentally. So please ensure you download the most current version of HJT (1.99.1) and put it in its own folder. I Like C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe

4. Now run HijackThis again with all windows closed, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST the Notepad file into this thread.

Regards,

Trevuren
