Hi - I connect to broadband using a 512k connection and USB modem. It has to be configured as a DUN connection.

About 50% of boot ups result in this connection being absent from network connections. I can still connect by launching IE bu no notification icon appears in the sys tray and although the connection is visible in IE/tools/internet options/conections accessing any of the connections properties causes IE to close with errors.

Getting it stable might be a big help as i have another issue - a USB wireless network adaptor that when installed intermittently freezes the PC. I don't know if the issues are related but maybe solving this one might help with troubleshooting the other.
